One Direction at the Verizon Center

MAKE SOME NOISE IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST ONE DIRECTION GIG - HARRY STYLES

*Insert special fan girl screams*

Sunday was indeed my first One Direction concert, and it may not be my last.

After coming across a ticket to the sold out One Direction concert in DC, the day of the show was finally here, and I couldn't have been more excited. I have never seen One Direction perform live before, I have only had the chance to see them do television performances and of course music videos. I went to the concert with a open mind, and excited heart. Coming from an era of boy bands with choreographed dance moves, wardrobe changes and concert DVDs (here's to you N'sync and Backstreet Boys for showing my age.) I was excited to see what this new wave of boy group was going to bring to me, and their fans.

Disclaimer: I am 22 years old, the two girls I was sitting next to were 14, and the girls in front of me were 7, 9, and 12, with their mom who was well into her 30's.  WE ALL HAD AN AMAZING TIME!

I'm a sucker for a live show, and One Direction didn't disappoint. After kicking off the show with a floor level entrance and up beat performance of "Live While We're Young" the boys from across the pond had my attention for the remainder of their set.

Performing a catalog of various hits with songs from their latest album Take Me Home and their debut Up All Night the group was able to keep the attention of the sold out area, and crowd of over 20,000 occupants.

The screams of the crowd never died down from the moment Harry, Liam, Niall, Zayn, and Louis all took the stage, and the boys seemed to love every bit of it. With constant crowd interaction during and in between the songs, the boys even took a moment to answer fan submitted twitter questions, while in the middle of the crowd, taking the time to soak up all the of the love and support.

Some of my favorite moments came when the boys performed some of my favorite hits including "Kiss You" "Rock Me" "C'mon C'mon" "Last First Kiss" "Little Things" (during the performance the group floated to the middle of the audience during their "favorite song") "I Would" "Up All Night" and "One Thing"

Just when I thought it was over (without them performing "What Make's You Beautiful") a classic and my favorite One Direction song, the boys came back to the stage and closed the show with the hit that put them on the map. During which the crowd was louder than ever, Liam took off his hoodie, Harry changed into a shirt with no sleeves, and Louis fell attempting to show off his best soccer moves. After the last THAT'S WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL the crowd roared the boys left the stage, and the area full of screaming teen girls, myself, and the gracious parents who sat through an entire concert cleared out, and our amazing night with One Direction was over.

The Red Wedding...

Game of Thrones...no how about Game of Tears.

I am personally still reeling over the "Red Wedding" scene during Sunday nights Game of Thrones. If your anything like me TV deaths really rock your world. (Seriously we are still trying to put together Toby's Pretty Little Liars death/comeback) and my sister is still crying about the demise of one of her beloved characters on Board Walk Empire. SEE THESE THINGS MATTER.

At best I'm sure the entire country was rocked by the death of Rob Stark, his wife and his mother. Nothing got me more than the death of his protective wolf. *grabs tissues*

My reaction was a subtle "OH MY GOD" followed by a "ARE YOU SERIOUS...NOOO" which ended with me screaming. "ARE YOU F*CK*G SERIOUS and closing my ipad"

I think we can all take a few lessons from this scene,

1. Read the book, to better prepare yourself.

2. Never mind 1 because no one could prepare their selves for such a scene.

3. Don't get close to anyone on TV. Although it isn't a reality competition show, you really can't trust a show to keep anyone even the main characters safe.

Damn you TV...why did you have to start my week off like this?

Allow me to have a celebrity moment...

Getting personal, in a celebrity kind of way...by taking to my blog to update you.

Allow me to personally introduce myself, and make my entrance back to my blog talking about something that's really popular now...Trying to land a job covering pop culture.

Maybe it's not so popular, maybe I just don't know enough people. Maybe it was just a fad and all of the classes and interviews are a thing of the past and stepping into the real world, that just isn't going to fly.

Nope not true, it is a dog eat dog profession and I have learned first hand that it's hard to come by.

For the last year I have been trying to build a name for myself, on social media, through email, on facebook. linkedln, this blog, serving tables and networking but it hasn't been enough. It has been a year and some change since I graduated college with a degree in English with a concentration in journalism and so far the only change has been working 20-30 hours a week at my restaurant job as a server/bar tender. I have watched my friends dreams fall into place. Becoming teachers, working for the criminal justice system, graduate school, starting businesses and even landing jobs in journalism.

Did I mention the part about not getting into grad school?

I have always had big city dreams and nightmares of failures. Wondered how after "keeping in touch" and interning I still can't manage to land the perfect gig.

I'm holding my unpaid freelance work writing weekly reviews for The Voice online for a local newspaper in great stride, even thought its a step in the right direction...I want more.

I dream way to big, and out loud, but I want the world to hear me, and see me. This post isn't to wallow in my sorrows, but to let people know that it's just a challenge, but I know after all the fight and struggle it will work out in the end. I have my mind set on building a pop culture empire, and landing my dream job.

Stay tuned, and focused. It will happen for me, it will happen for us.

I promise.

Get to know Real World Portland's Hurricane Nia

At the start of season 28 of the Real World Portland, we were introduced to 7 new people and a dog. Within one episode a roommate dropped and MTV blessed us all with the presance of  Nia, also known to most as Hurricane Nia. Each week we watch Nia shake things up and bring entertainment, conversation, and excitement to the Portland house. We had the chance to catch up with the star of the Real World Portland and talk about her experience, her 6 audition tapes, and of course her relatioinship with the houses' tiniest roommate, Daisy.

ThisISPOP: What made you decide to audition for the Real World?

Nia: I have always wanted to do it since I was a little kid, I was like “That’s an awesome idea to go and I obviously get away from the real world for 3 months, you get to go on vacation and meet new people and be in front of the world and grow up.” I always wanted to do it but, I could never really do it all these years because I played volleyball and I couldn’t just quit school and go on the show;  so I decided to just wait until I graduated. I graduated last year in 2011 (from Howard Uninversity). Last summer was the perfect time for me, because I decided to take a break from working a real corporate job in journalism and I was like you know what “I’m really going to go for this thing.” So I waited for the casting to come around and I ended up on the show. Two weeks in, but better later than never!

ThisISPOP: How did MTV approach you for the show? Were you always casted or was it a decision made due to one of the roommates leaving?
Nia: (Laughter) I say I was always going to be on the show. I’ve had some of my roommates in the house try and diss me and say “oh your'e just a replacement” and I’m like “Even within two weeks on the show I still came on this thing and stole the whole show from all of you here” so being a replacement doesn’t matter. At the end of the day it’s who makes the show worth watching and that’s me and I’m not afraid to admit it. There were some people who were boring, not all of the people but just some of the roommates (just the ones I didn’t get along with and just irrelevant to the show)
I was definitely a finalist, even though I wasn’t part of the original 8, I knew I was going to be picked for the show and they were going to call me. So when they called me I was like “Hell yeah”

ThisISPOP: How many audition tapes did you do? Just 1, It looks like you had a lot of different footage.

Nia: I did 6 audition tapes and for me! Everyone is like they only ask you for one and I’m like why would I just do what they expect and what everyone else is doing? So I went to the open calls when they came to Atlanta and basically used my resources. I went online and Facebook and talked to people who had been on the Real World before and the only advice they would really give me is to go to the open call. I’m so glad that they did. I wouldn’t have gone because I figured since I made so many tapes that would be enough.  I went to the open calls just so I could make a face to face impression and I’m so glad they did that because I’m sure they were tired of watching my tapes. I was like “they know this girl clearly wants to do it.”

I really didn’t think you guys would see all of that stuff in my audition tapes. Normally they don’t broadcast that, so when my dad saw the clip he was like “Really Nia that’s all you like, a huge dick and food.” And Im like yes those are two things I love. But I really didn’t think it would be shown to the world like that but oh well! I went into the experience totally open and I’ll take the good with the bad.

ThisISPOP: Was it hard filming and driving? The majority of the footage seemed like it was filmed in the car!

Nia: I basically put my MacBook computer on my dashboard, because I had an idea of all this shit I wanted to say and it just became too overwhelming so I was like fuck that… so I just threw it away and I just pushed play and just recorded myself at different times in different days and different situations happening and what was going on in my life. I always felt, my life was made for TV, people would always tell me, you have so much drama, and you’re so made for this. So if that’s the case and that’s the truth I’m just going to talk about the shit that is going on in my real life and who I really am. What you see on that tape is definitely me.

ThisISPOP: On your debut episode, you could see that all of the roommates were plotting to guess how you would really be after your southern “half white and Cherokee” phone call. You could see that some of the girls already had pre conceived notions about you.  At your first look, could you tell which roommates you would vibe with and which ones you would clash with?
Nia: Right off the back no, because I went into the experience like “I’m about to have 7 new friends, if somebody jumped ship along the way fuck it”.  I went into it giving everyone an equal opportunity to show me the good side of them.  When I walked in the house everybody had something negative to say about Jordan, it’s like I couldn’t unpack my suitcase before I heard some of the roommates saying negative things about him.  For me I know how human nature is, so I knew there was a chance that the boys wanted to be him, and the girls wanted to fuck him maybe because he is an athletic guy, very articulate and comes from a well-kept family. So when I saw him, I felt that he was such a sweet guy, I didn’t see what they saw. That is where I felt like I’m going to wait for this kid to do something to me; I’m not going to believe what these punk ass girls are saying.
They were very sensitive, the girls I lived in the house with were all sensitive females, and I’m just not used to girls like that. This is why me and Joi are so close.  We never met on the show, she and I were so similar, out of everyone in the house I would say that she would be the girl that I would probably hang out with in real life. I wanted to find something I had in common with all of those girls…which I did. I found something I had in common with Anastasia, Jess. It’s just funny seeing that they had all these negative pre conceived notions about me, just saying hi. They basically just really racially profiled me, many people don’t want to talk about it but had I been a blonde hair, blue eyed white girl they wouldn’t have been so quick to say that she is going to have problems or Jess saying “She looks like she parties too much” What the fuck does party too much mean first of all? Then Anastasia and Avery saying in the bathroom that she is going to pick fights, and two seconds later after we had a few drinks they are like “OMG you’re so awesome” again why did you have to think the stereotype that all black girls are loud and crazy and mean an violent?  That’s not me at all. I am such a down to earth cool person; I don’t get into confrontations unless I have to defend myself. I am not a starter but I am a great finisher.

ThisISPOP: You chose to talk about a very personal subject really early into your Real World experience.   How did you decide to talk about your past sexual assault?
Nia: When I first started talking about it, me and Marlon were having a really deep conversation, he was telling me about his life and we came full circle into the conversation about something I don’t talk about especially to the whole world. Half of my school didn’t know this, some of my friends didn’t know this I kept a small circle of people who had to be involved, people who were tied to the incident and my friends and my sisters. I tried to sweep it under the rug because I thought it was embarrassing. When I saw the episode playback I was like “ooo I totally forgot.” I talked about it in my audition tape, but in that I was brutally honest and I never thought that anyone would see that but the producers. That’s  part of me that I thought no one would ever see, it’s not like I was going to go out to the world and talk about it again.
When I saw it playback I was like “Damn now I don’t want people feeling sorry for me and calling me like “I heard what happened.” This happened when I was 18/19 years old, I don’t want people to think that I’m some broken, scorned woman; I definitely survived it and changed for the better. This is the point where I realized that me talking about it, there are so many woman and men who went through situations like mine and were too afraid, or embarrassed or don’t know if anyone would believe them, or for whatever reason. I felt like this was my story and my truth, so If someone wanted to come out and say “She is a bold faced liar, she really is a gold digging whore.” I could say I don’t care, I know my truth I know what I went through, with the trail and the whole situation. I want everyone to know, you can’t run from these situations. For me I looked on the brightside because you don’t know how many times you watched a movie and seen a girl get raped, or killed or tossed in the gutter or catch a disease, there are so many other things that could have happened. I was fine, I was more angry with myself that I let it happen. I felt like,” you know what Nia had you not left your drink around some guy that you barley even knew, and giving someone the benefit of the doubt when you don’t know him, this wouldn’t have happened.”

ThisISPOP: Are you still friends with any of your roommates? Did you and Daisy ever start to get along?
Nia: I am friends with the majority of the people that I lived with. Daisy that is like my godchild I don’t care if I ever see her parents again, Daisy will always be in my heart. She slept in my bed 90 percent of the time I was in Portland; her parents slept together in the bed right next to mine. They were always doing their thing, but when I started feeding her that was my way of being like “I could always keep this bitch with me” she was more of my dog than their's. I had my own little call, but she definitely ran when things got crazy.
ThisISPOP: Would you do your Real World experience again?
Nia:Yes! I would totally do it again. I had the time of my life for good and bad reasons, but that’s just life in general.  I feel like the stuff that went on in the house, other than the physical stuff was just normal life for me anyways. Just wild fun, drunken parties, boy problems, all that stuff is just typical 23 year old stuff.  I was comfortable as hell as you could tell in the first 5 minutes. I did a show before that called The Choice, basically if you have stage fright this is how you get over it. The cameras are everywhere; it’s literally like moving plant in the room.
ThisISPOP: What is next for Hurricane Nia? Is there a possible spin off in the works?
Nia: I would love a spin off! If everything works out that will be my next project. My book soon, once in for all is coming out. “How to play the game” it is the ultimate playbook on how to date and keep a professional athlete. It was pretty much an investigative journalist project of mines but I guarantee it’s never been done before and there are so many people who have questions. All direct interviews I conducted with the players and their wives and mistresses about what it takes to be in that type of relationship.  Of course more TV, modeling and acting!
ThisISPOP: When all of the Real World Portland episodes air, what do you want people to think of you?
Nia: I get this all the time, "you’re so nice you’re so cool, not like the girl I saw on the show.” But people have to remember you only got 5 percent of everything that is filmed. It’s impossible to tell the whole story of everything that was filmed. I have always held myself accountable and I’ve always held myself self-aware on doing the right thing, and speaking before I act, but I’m not perfect so I know the people who know me know me and think very highly of me, that because how I walked through life before I walked on the show.
"But I say before you get to know me hang out, smoke a blunt have a drink, talk to me before you assume what you see on TV is 100 percent accurate and me. It’s just television!"

It's official, break out your cross-colors, multi colored condoms, and old TLC Cd's (I've already done all of the above) VH1 has started filming for the TLC biopic slated to air this fall. The network has enlisted former Nick star Keke Palmer, The Game star Drew Sidora, and rapper/dancer/judge Lil Mama to play Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, Tionne "T-Boz Watkins, and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez.

Along with the photo released above, the news also broke that the two remaining members of the super group will be producing the project. Super excited about this movie...Are you?

Who was your favorite member of TLC, What was your favorite song?

Sounds like summertime to me. Ariana Grande ft. Mac Miller 'The Way"

There is nothing like a Big Pun sample, and a cute hook!

Ariana Grande has both with her newest single "The Way" featuring Mac Miller. As if the song wasn't enough, the visual is just as good. Grande keeps it simple and fun.

Adding this song to my "Songs of the Summer" list.

Enjoy.

The Kardashian Tell All

Ryan Seacrest sat down with all of the Kardashian/Jenner Klan on Sunday, for a E news special to do what else?...catch up with the Kardashians.

While the brood's reality TV show is on a break, the family has managed to keep their selves busy, and remain in the public eye. Their boss and family friend joined them at the family home for a not so traditional dinner party (with questions under their dinner plates).

The show aired past clips from the 2006 debut, talked relationships, rumors, sex, pregnancy, and of course awkward moments.

62 day until Pretty Little Liars returs!

We are counting down the days until the summer premiere of Pretty Little Liars on June 11th. (62)
Tuesday nights just have not been the same since the spring finale a few weeks ago. How have we been spending our Tuesday night's? More work, The Voice, more work. Which is great but indeed not the same.

Never fear! The amazing cast of Pretty Little Liars have been giving us our daily fix of the happenings behind the scenes of Rosewood, by taking a few amazing flicks. How adorable is the pic with all the mini liars and the girls? or the shot of Ashlee and Tyler aka Hayleb!

What about the pic of the boys drinking wine by the fireplace?

Although we are not quite sure where the show is going with the yellow raincoats sported by Shay and Ashley, or why or how Keegan managed to snap that awesome "tomb raider" pic of Troian.

We are just saying THANK YOU!

The drama returns to Rosewood on Tuesday June 11th at 8pm. We will be counting down the days and gawking over the behind the scenes pics until then.

PS. Happy Birthday Shay Mitchell aka. Emily

I admit we love all things Selena Gomez! All bias aside her new single Come & Get It will be in heavy rotation this summer. The singers first single since the end of her stint on Wizards of Waverly Place and her movie Spring Breakers.

Even though the track was released two days early, the songtress didn't seem to mind, as she tweeted all of the positive reviews. With the loud cover art and catchy track to accompany the song. I am excited to see the video for it!

This really isn't high school...Nicki Minaj "High School" video

When you heard the song, you didn't picture drug lords, barley there bathing suits, big pools. or sex scenes with Lil Wayne. Nicki Minaj does it again as she shakes up the thought of a video taking place in a high school, and takes a entirely different route.

While Nicki released images from the video days in advance, it finally made it's debut on MTV.  Nicki discussed the concept of the video, along with why she chose Lil Wayne not just to feature on the song, but to play her leading man.

It's Finally Here!

After 3 long years of waiting. The Jonas Brothers released the video for the single "Pom Poms" off of their highly anticipated (name not released) album. Yesterday the brothers toured about LA as they stopped by On Air with Ryan Secareast to announce their summer tour!!!!

Later on the boys stopped by E News to talk about the new single and what it really means to "put you pom poms down."  Older Jo Bro Kevin took to instagram to express his excitement and post a pic of the brothers watching the video live for the first time!

If your into cheerleaders, marching bands, random dance breaks (featuring surprise NICK JONAS) and of course THE JONAS BROTHERS, you will love the video!

Countdown to Pom Poms

"Its all about the choir." tweeted Nick Jonas. With the above image marking the 4 days until the premiere of the Jonas Brothers first single off of their first album in 3 years.

Each day one of the Jo Bros post a pic of a scene from the much anticipated "Pom Poms" video. So far we have seen images of Joe, a football field, and cheerleaders. How appropriate right?

I can't wait for the April 2nd premiere on E. Until then we will continue to countdown "Pom Poms." #PomPoms4

Vintage Celeb Moment: Johnny Depp on Letterman 1999

Video Credit: Youtube.com

It's no secret that I love movies, and Johnny Depp. Earlier this week Johnny Depp appeared on Letterman to talk about his new film The Lone Ranger. Well I managed to miss it (I've been super busy with work) after watching the clip via Youtube, this vintage video appeared in the video suggestions.

In the clip above Johnny appears on The Late Show to discuss his new film, Sleepy Hallow, his then 6 month old daughter, changing diapers, burping babies, and destroying hotel rooms!

Also Johnny takes the time to address his scuffle with the paps, which resulted in his arrest.

We love vintage celebs and Johnny Depp. Be sure to catch up with us as we talk about the Lone Ranger!

Blu Ivy has puff balls and little tims.

It's a treat when celebs allow the inter webs to gush over their babies. Beyonce allowed that to happen today when a photo surfaced today of her and Jay Z's beautiful baby girl.

1. I love coats, and I love the one Beyonce is sporting. (Fashion ladies help me out.)

2. Blu Ivy's is rocking the most adorable puff balls in her hair!

3. I love how this photo is so natrual.

PS. Did you happen to peep her baby tims? LOVE!

This is the true story of 7 strangers.

In celebration of the 28th installment of MTV's The Real World series starting Wednesday in Portland, the network decided to take a trip back in time this weekend and air 3 of the series most intriguing seasons, as part of their #RetroMTV weekend. As a result of working extra long hours this weekend, I decided to lay in bed and enjoy the trip through MTV's Real World time machine.

Retro MTV Real World weekend kicked off with the very first season in New York (which aired in 1992...I was only 2.) and ending Sunday evening with the infamous San Fransisco season. In between however the network played one of my all time favorite seasons. Season 12: Las Vegas. Although I was only in middle school when the series aired, I made sure I tuned in each week to catch up with those 7 strangers, who used the hot tube and tent in the living room for way more than their intended uses. (Pardon me for finally realizing what was really going on then.)
Alton, Irulan, Arissa, Trishelle, Steven, Frank and Brynn ranked some of televisions classic moments.

While season 12 was a classic, the one season that defined the culture of the show along with the time it was shot was the third season in San Fransisco. Mohamed, Judd, Rachael, Cory, Pam, Pedro and Puck, were the season that is still known as one of the series most pivotal. Dealing with classic roommate drama including a finger in the peanut butter and exit of a housemate (Puck was voted out of the house by cast mates) and roommate Pedro's batter with the AIDS virus.

Since both seasons of the series have aired, reality TV has become the staple of television and pop culture. The culture of the series has changed with the times resulting in more fights and roommate confrontations, I am excited to see what the new season and cast will bring. Be sure to catch Real World: Portland on Wednesday.

In the mean time, I will still continue to wish that in the next instalment of  #RetroMTV the networks plays Hawaii, Chicago, and New Orleans. ( Who can I write about this?)

Who was really in that red coat?

Photo Credit: Pretty Little Liars Facebook

My heart is still racing after watching tonight's spring finale of Pretty Little Liars. While a lot of questions were answered, there are a few I still need answers to. Preferably before the June premiere.  If you haven't watched tonight's episode, come back a little later...SPOILER ALERTS

1. Excuse me Jenna, why are you back? Also, why are you in cahoots with Paige's ex flame (Who flirts with everyone...except for Hanna?)

2. Where did Hanna take babysitting classes. (Malcolm's 7...What's he into...fast cars...fast girls?")

3. Aria, why is my heart breaking, like you are breaking up with me?

4. Who is "Pretty Eyes"?

5. Wait...Toby is ALIVE?

6. Spencer we understand that you are excited to see Toby, but don't you think you should ask questions first...and get frisky later?

7. Mona, how on earth have you been working for someone, when you don't know who they are?

8. Can we really trust Toby, Can we really trust Spencer?

Bonus question: Is anyone in love with the season one-esque Aria and Ezra moments? I can't be only me.

9. Does this mean the girls and Mona are going to be best friends?

10. Did you see Allie too?

WHO THE HELL IS IN THE TRUNK OF DETECTIVE WELDON'S CAR?

I guess we have to wait until June to find out.

The time has finally come. 20/20 Experience Day!

Happy 20/20 Experience day everyone!

As promised I was sure to pick up four copies of the album today.

Why would I do that you ask? Here is why.

Growing up I was always a JT fan. Posters lining my wall, recording TV appearances. A separate section for Justin Timberlake on my annual Christmas list. Blah blah blah...We can talk about that, but let me just cut to the chase.

Justified was released in Nov 2002. I had my 12th bday party and along with the copy I picked up. Three of my wonderful friends showed up with copies of the album for me. Leaving me with 4.

When Future/Sex?Lovesounds was released, My mom purchased a copy. I purchased my own copy, then opened the mail, and see two more copies from my father.

Long story short, Justin Timberlake Cd's happen to me in fours. No exception, today I picked up four copies. (2 from Best Buy and 2 from Target.) I have to thank my best friend for picking up the Target copies for me, then allowing me to come to her house on a "school night" to pick them up!

Last night at Justin's IheartRadio album release party he put a end to the rumors, stating that this is indeed only the first half of the experience...with no word on when the second part will be released. *saves money to purchase those*

Until then, I'll contiune to jam to part one!

1 day, The wait is almost over!

After a week of performances and comedy on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and streaming his album on itunes, the wait is almost over. Tomorrow marks the release of Justin Timberlake's much anticipated album The 20/20 Experience. With the release of the album comes a televised look at his Iheartradio album release party in Los Angeles hosted by non other than Ryan Seacrest.

There is no greater sense of nostalgia than the one that comes with waiting for a new Justin Timberlake album.

How many copies will you pick up...we are thinking four over here...too much? Didn't think so.

Time to slip on your dancing shoes!

Tonight is the night! ABC's hits series Dancing with the Stars returns. While last season did not catch my attention, I have much to look forward to with the new line up of stars competing for the infamous mirror ball trophy. Zendaya Gordon (Disney's Shake it Up) Andy Dick (Comedian) and Lisa Vanderpump (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) are the three contestants who are getting my votes.

Seeing the stars outside of their natural elements is always a plus, along with the judges reactions. I look forward to live performances and shocking eliminations too. Be sure to check back for weekly reactions, recaps, and elimination shockers. This season is sure to be a great one!

3 Days, 3 days...Strawberry Bubble Gum!

Still obsessed with Justin Timberlake, I have been on a roll with staying up past my bedtime to see his performaces on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in celebration of "Timberweek." Thursday night has to be my my favorite performace by far.

Justin took to the Fallon stage to perform one of the albums more mellow tunes, "Strawberry Bubble Gum." It was great to see him go into full dance mode while singing along to the tune (as I've been fearing he won't be doing much of due to his more dapper image.)

In case you missed the performace, you can click the link below and enjoy.

A cold goodbye to warm winter tv

While it warms my heart that spring is near, I am just as sad to be giving the seasonal send off to some of my favorite TV shows. Winter time has always been my favorite time for TV. Around that time all of the shows are mid season, and getting to some of the most important parts of the series. This season for the first time in a while, I had at least one hour long show to occupy my time everyday of the week. I know what your thinking, WHY SO MUCH TV?

But my question to you is...WHO KEEPS COMING UP WITH SUCH WONDERFUL SHOWS?

This season Monday and Wednesday nights occupied most of my time. In between live tweeting Love and Hip Hop New York, and Catfish, I could hardly find time to catch a breath in between the intense story lines that accompanied each show.

However Wednesday nights took the lead, starting with a hour of NBC comedy, then an hour of intense horror while watching this season's American Horror Story, then back to NBC where I spent my final hour of TV trying to help Detective Olivia Benson solve whichever case was plaguing her Special Victims Unit that night.

While I have my eye on some new series making their debut in the coming spring month, I don't think I am quite ready to let go of these shows I have grown close to. (Let's not mention Pretty Little Liars, and how lost my TV life would will be without them.)

Be sure to tune in next week for what is sure to be some amazing reactions to some great season finale's.

6 days and couting....

For 6 years I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this album. For 10 plus years, I have been Justin Timberlake's number 1 fan. Yes I know that Nsync made their debut in late 98. But I went through a brief period of time loving the Backstreet Boys, then finally adoring Nsync, having a brief love for Lance Bass, then JC Chasez (who is still a close second in my favorite Nsync member contest.) and finally...JUSTIN RANDALL TIMBERLAKE.

So 2000/2001 seems about right.

With the release of the 20/20 Experience brings excitement, and a bit of nostalgia to us all. I feel as though I am back in my TRL hay-day. Recording all of his television appearances (Thank God for dvr, because I am certain I have ran out of tapes.) Staying up past my bedtime to watch him on late night tv. ("Timberweek" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has to be the best thing since sliced bread, offering fans some of Justin's amazing humor, and a performance of a new song each day.) Pre- ordering his new album (this time sans my mom's money...so I scored two.) and finally getting the chance to see him perform live.

So for the next 6 days, here on ThisISPOP, we will have our own celebration of the release of the 20/20 Experience. Enjoy trip down memory lane, recaps of our favorite tv moment this week, and finally the excitement that will follow the actual release of the album.

Be back soon, going to play the Itunes stream of the album for the 5th time. I have to know all of the words by the time the actual album is released right?
